Fish which are not actually Fish!!!
Fish.. Fish.. Something's Fishy!!!
Our nature is rich in a wide variety of species and there are few organisms which are considered fish or are called with a suffix 'fish' but are actually not a fish!!!
Let's find them out-

These beautiful little jellyfish are NOT actually fish. They belong to Phylum Cnidaria. Though most of the jellyfish are harmless, few are actually venomous and dangerous to humans. The long thread-like structures visible in the image are called 'tentacles.' Tentacles contain cells called nematocysts, which produce venom. Poisonous jellyfish are a threat to swimmers all over the world. Special 'Stinger Suits' have been designed to protect the swimmers from jellyfish clinging to them thus preventing their sting.
2. Starfish:

Starfish is NOT a fish!!! Starfish belong to Phylum Echinodermata. Starfish are also known as Sea-stars and 'asteroids'- as they belong to class Asteroidae. Starfish move with the help of numerous tube feet. Most of the starfish bear 5 arms and they can regenerate their arm, if damaged. Starfish have eyes but they don't have a heart and a brain. Starfish are harmless to humans.
3. Cuttlefish:
Cuttlefish is not a fish. It belongs to the class of squids and octopuses (Phylum Mollusca). Cuttlefish can change their colour according to the surroundings. They are also known as "Chameleons of the Sea". Few species of Cuttlefish are edible and few of them are venomous.
4. Silverfish:
You all must have once encountered this little creature in your homes- on walls/ in wardrobes/ in beddings. This is Silverfish which again, actually, is NOT a fish. Silverfish belongs to Class Insecta. Silverfish are a very common sight in humid places. Though they are not poisonous they are harmful as they can damage books, clothes, carpets and grocery. An interesting fact about silverfish is that they like sugary foods and coffee!!!
5. Shellfish:
Shellfish are NOT the fish. Shellfish is a broad term used for all invertebrates with a shell (belonging to phylum Mollusca, Arthropoda and Echinodermata). Shell fish are an edible and rich source of many healthy nutrients.
6. Seahorse:
A Seahorse is a Fish!!! and Yes!!! The scientific name of Seahorse is Hippocampus. They are basically modified pipefish. Seahorse are beautiful marine fish which are threatened and vulnerable due to their habitat damage and fishing (for medicinal use). An interesting fact about Seahorse is that not the female, but male seahorse bears the eggs.
